Mike Alalof
I'm a 54-year old bodybuilder and an ex-prize fighter, and I believe in fitness head to toe. It may have saved my life. I've had MS for 14 years, and because of my knowledge and background in health, fitness, and nutrition, I have successfully recovered much of my energy and strength that I lost when I first got MS. I spent two years relying on a wheelchair, but since that time I have learned not only how to recover my own vitality and strength but how to teach these methods to others. I can bring both the knowledge and the compassion to help others who face major physical challenges.
I have 25 years of experience training a wide range of individuals, from prize fighters and bodybuilders to senior citizens to those just getting into fitness to those with severe impairments. My job in the last few years has become exceptionally rewarding because of my increasing amount of work with people with special needs. These special needs include multiple sclerosis, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, autism, and various types of injury and mobility impairments. I frequently conduct classes and seminars for people with unique needs, and have extensive experience with the methods that work best to develop fitness and strength from any starting point, from the minimally fit to the highly toned athlete.
I have a degree in Exercise Physiology and Physical Education from the City University of New York. I have owned and operated several gyms over the last 20 years. My most important credential, however, is the level of personal experience I bring to helping others realize the possibilities in overcoming their circumstances and becoming strong and healthy.
